The Senegalese-Polish band perfectly embodies how music can connect cultures and continents. Mamadou Diouf, artist, lyricis and singer from Senegal teamed up with Grzegorz Rytka, Polish saxophonist in 2014 to create Mamadou & Sama Yoon. They employ abrobeat, reggae and personal accounts by Mamadou to transmit the culture of Senegal, and create a unique European fusion with African roots. Other members add their diverse musical expertise and creativity to the mix, making the name ‘Sama Yoon’ – own path in Wolof – ever more fitting.
