Two musical cultures meet through the friendship of Vardan Hovanissian and Emre Gültekin, creating beautiful melodies undulating with serene melancholy. Both excellent masters of their instruments, Hovanissian and Gültekin go beyond the joy of music, and aim at no less than Armenian-Turkish reconciliation. Their latest album, Adana (2015) sees the duduk and baglama engage in refined conversation steeped in musical ingenuity, and was met with due critical acclaim.
