You’re at a Balkan wedding and in a throbbing club at the same time: this is what you get from Äl Jawala, with some sore muscles the next day. The crowd-friendly band started off their carreer busking; which comes across the first instance they step on stage. Two saxophones plus two percussion sets ensure an irrestistable thrust, with a didj and guitar completing the sound. As their name suggests (Äl Jawala is Arabic for wandering people, travellers) they wander freely across genres, as long as it gets the party going: balkan beat, ska, electro, funk, jungle and cumbia make for a rhythmic blast.
Early bird tickets can be purchased until 01.10.
