Finance Management ERIAC
As an activist and social scientist, Joanna Khandjieva has taken part in several, mainly educational projects in Hungary and India. Born in Sofia, grown up in Budapest, and living in Berlin, she can easily relate to the trans-national initiative of ERIAC to bring people together. She studied English Culture and Literature and Social Sciences at the Budapest Eötvös Lorándt University. Following that, Joanna decided to pursue her studies in Social and Cultural Anthropology in Berlin, with a focus of intercultural cooperation and post-colonial power relations all over the globe.
Up until now, the focus of her work has been primarily the support and empowerment of so-called peripheral communities. In Hungary, she worked with Roma communities in North-Eastern Hungary as a tutor and social worker, where she discovered the value of an intercultural working environment, which has become the most significant impact on her professional and personal life. In the last three years, Joanna managed a small community project in the mountain region of India, Zanskar. With research and developing methodologies, she aimed at building the foundation of an intercultural cooperation based on real partnership.
Joanna has been a member of the ERIAC team since November 2018. She is the lead of the Finance Department, responsible for supervising the financial management as well as the financial- and narrative reporting of the projects ERIAC is leading.
