Artemisz Severinghaus is a Hungarian program organiser, performer and educator trained in jazz, classical and contemporary music.
She is currently serving as Head of Music Education and Outreach at House of Music Hungary, a role she proudly shares with her co-lead, Ferenc Tarr. Artemisz brings her expertise in creative music education to the outreach program of the House of Music. She is also responsible for the interactive and educational lectures for adults, and other mischief that is supposed to make the visitors of the House smile.
She was a student of the Royal Conservatorium of The Hague, where she hung out with the cool kids of jazz and early music. She then spent 8 years in the US, researching vocal improvisation through a scholarship, and performing and composing with groups such as Asaran Earth Trio, C4 and the Delegation. As a teaching artist she worked for the Metropolitan Opera Guild and the 92Y, bringing music workshops to public schools in New York City.
