Babra is five musicians connected by their passion and strengthened by family ties, in the pursuit of new forms for the music of South Slavic cultures. Possessing a unique style and sound, Babra revives the South Slavic musical heritage with authenticity.

This musical culture, slumbering for the past century, revolves around the tamburitza, the instrument family capable of weaving the richest and most dynamic musical fabric. Babra’s mission is to embody this rich musical heritage with youthful energy and add value to its unique interpretations.

The band was selected by the seven jury members of WOMEX 20 for the regional Duna-stage. They will perform at Budapest Ritmo feat. WOMEX, on the stage of MÜPA Budapest.
