Agona Shporta

Sound alchemist, vocalist, pianist and composer Agona Shporta reinvents the Albanian folk repertoire in evocative and contemporary soundscapes. Four excellent musicians add their mark to her debut album, ‘Hape Portën’: a densely atmospheric piece with jazzy layers. The album title quotes a 1990’s isopoliphonic song, “Hape Portën Moj Evropë” (Open Your Gate, O Europe), which she will fittingly sing in her first visa-free performance in Budapest.
