Thomas Lidy has been active in Music & AI since 2004. First a researcher at Vienna University of Technology, he then founded music intelligence startup Spectralmind 2008, providing B2B solutions and creating the first music discovery app for the iPad, sonarflow.

In 2015, Thomas joined Musimap as the Head of AI, providing music search and categorization solutions to medium and large-scale music labels and catalogs. After the acquisition by Utopia Music, Thomas spearheaded a team of 15 data scientists, musicologists and AI experts, creating an emotion-aware music AI able to understand music & listeners, vastly improving music recommendation for a spot-on listening experience adapted to situation & mood.

Thomas is currently the Head of Data Science and AI at iGroove Music providing solutions that enable growth of musicians and labels alike, through intelligent predictive analysis of music data.
He co-organized AI Summit Vienna 2017 and holds talks at music & tech conferences worldwide.
