Juan Antonio Vázquez is the director of Mundofonías Radio and responsible for the award-winning international radio show Mundofonías, broadcast on over 50 stations in 18 countries, from Vancouver to Athens and from Madrid to Mexico City, Puerto Rico and Lima, and described by Gerald Seligman as “one of the best programs of music from all over the world.”
On Spain’s National Radio (RNE), he also produces shows on two of the corporation’s channels: Mil mundos on Radio Clásica and Mil mundos en Radio 5 (RNE’s all-news channel). He has produced other shows on RNE since 2008.
He is the ideologue, co-founder and co-director of the global network of world music journalists and specialists Transglobal World Music Chart, and also the creator of LIMúR (Iberian Roots Music Chart).
Juan Antonio regularly serves as a jury member for international awards and charts such as Premios MIN, Sori Frontier, Folkspot Denmark, Premio Andrea Parodi, Premio Loano and Balkan World Music Chart, among others.
