Christine Semba (France/Germany) – Consultant, curator and networker, for music and cultural industries. Christine has served as an expert for the EU and UNESCO. Christine currently leads WOMEX’s Consultancy department. Previously, she worked as director of professional music network Zone Franche where she led the EU-funded ‘ACP Music Festivals Network’ and before that, was director of content & programmes at WOMEX for nine years. Recent projects: music conventions and festivals: Porto Musical, in Recife, Brazil; Atlantic Music Expo in Praia, Cabo Verde; SOTX Music Expo and Festival in Beijing, China, Circulart in Medellín, Colombia, Primera Linea in Havana,Cuba and AMFEST Expo in Lagos, Nigeria. Consultant for internationalization of music and music events in Barbados, Colombia, Jamaica, Senegal. She is also the initiator of the project LusAfro for musical exchanges between lusophone Africa & Germany and the WOMEX Academy, capacity building programme for music professionals and WOMEX Academy, capacity building and fellowship programme.
