Boi Akih

Saturday’s lyrical highlight is the fusion-jazz band, Boi Akih. Their unmistakable sound is a playful, experimental and improvisational take on Melanese musical heritage fused with modern Dutch jazz and classical Indian music. The search for its ‘own’ roots has led to Boi Akih’s unique sound, complete with Hungarian recorder player Dodó Kis, as well as her Indonesian, Dutch and Guinean band members.
